I recently update my MAC M1 to Sonoma and KiCAD to V7.0.8. I experience frequent crashes mostly when working with another Mac as second monitor and have both schematic and PCB open. I’m not sure what it is - Sonoma or rev 7.0.8, but after the crash, because of temporary files creation, both schematic and PCB report as being open…
Do you experience the same with latest revision?

I can’t help with the crashes, but the below link to another thread will probably be your “file open” reports. The file will regenerate each crash. You can also just ignore the warning whilst the crashing continues.
If you don’t get any replies about the crashes, best to report on Git.
Open Kicad, go to Help, Report Bug.
