Is there an automatic KiCad version selector by project file?

Let me explain.
I’ve both KiCad 7 and 8 installed in my PC. Some projects are made with KiCad 7 and other with KiCad 8.
I would like to click on the .kicad_pro file and have the proper version of KiCad loaded depending on the .kicad_pro originator version.
Is there a way to have something like this working?

Not yet ™, it’s on my todo list.

We only just added a footnote in v8 to the file format to track what kicad version created the file clearly (we tracked file format revisions in a different manner that made such a lookup annoying before)
