How sad to see an arms (euphemism: defence) company collaborating with the Kicad project. Well, it is not my wish to make an apology for peace but I hope that nothing explodes.
Should we blame knife manufacturers if someone decides to use a knife to kill people?
I agree with your point of view even if your example is wrong . . . a chopping knife is for chopping food, an AK47 is for killing people.
I’m very tempted to close this thread before it descends into chaos that has really nothing to do with KiCad . . . and all the arguments too and fro will do little to convince anyone that their opinion/belief is incorrect.
So it will just be a place to vent and shout at one another . . .

We don’t know how they use the software and it is very likely in association with test equipment not production of assets. Why? full production needs PLM support and while Kicad is getting soo much better at this, it isn’t fully there and also the big two players in this actively target big companies to tie them into large contracts.
I take this as a win, another company is providing support to ensure that kicad is sustainable.
