KiCAD crash on a company managed computer almost every time when I want t update a package information on sch file.
I am using 8.0 now, but never met this kind of problem before.
Maybe, it is because the computer is a managed one. But, I am not sure.
anyone has the similar problem?
additional information,
the same version, same project does not crash on another not-company-managed computer.
and both are win10 system.
Are the video drivers up to date?
I am not sure about this.
I will check later.

That is not how KiCad works at all.
A crash is a bug and not a network issue. Nor would a network issue be related to “updating a schematic file”.

What exact steps are you taking to cause the crash since it sounds reproducible?

Hi, I can not offer a solution, but I have been using KiCad 7.x and 8.x on two different company laptops (DELL with INTEL graphic, win10 & 11 ).
These laptops are so “managed” I can only use KiCad by extracting the .EXE with 7zip !
Up to now (8.0.3) KiCad runs rock solid. Schematic, PCB, Simulation - everything works fine.
I extracted KiCad to the local drive (C:) but my projects are on a network drive !
I will try this solution .
thanks.

Oh, I didn t notice yet. That is something I hoped for and I even mentioned it in this forum some time ago.
I will try that feature with 8.0.4 !
it is not working for me.
I gave up and started on another computer which is not managed by company.
