I’m having one little problem with KiCad 8.0.5 and 8.0.6 which re-opens a few seconds after being closed.
This happens whether there is an open project or not. The second instance won’t re-open once closed.
KiCad version info below.
I also encountered something strange under the pcb editor before switching from 8.0.5 to 8.0.6 .
As it happened only once, I couldn’t reproduce it so far, and don’t clearly remember after what actions this happened, but I was mainly doing some grouping / ungrouping, cutting / pasting, adding vias between components located inside a grounded area (and re-filling the area). Sometime among all this, one via of another grounded area got its net name changed and grayed. Furthermore, the undo history disappeared. After closing KiCad, a crash pop-up raised saying that a breakpoint was met.
I will update if I manage to reproduce.
Do you have anonymous crash reporting enabled (it’s in the KiCad preferences under ‘Data collection’)? If so, please file a bug report and include your collection ID. You can make it confidential if you want only the lead devs to be able to see your collection ID.
Same comment - please enable crash reporting and log a bug report if you experience a crash. We should be able to look up the details from your reporting ID.
Sorry for not answering this earlier. I just enabled it, but didn’t have any crash since the last one.
However, KiCad always re-opens once after being closed.
Do you have some kind of built-in or add-on software to the OS that saves the running applications on shutdown to reopen them after the OS has restarted? Could it be misbehaving?
No. Only happened each time I closed with KiCad. However the problem didn’t occur the last two times I used it. Very strange. I will update if the problem comes back.
