I have a situation where an area fill works fine in 7.0.0 but is broken in 7.0.1.

The kicad project file *.kicad_pro is missing.
If you use the kicad manager → File–>Archive project you will get a complete zipped project with all necessary files.
I can do that but I may have to use wetransfer or something as this creates a file of 31MB. Also, I do not wish to make the entire project public on the forum. Is it possible to send to the developers via PM?
Open an issue on GitLab, mark it as confidential, and attach the file there. The devs use GitLab rather than this forum for handling bug reports.
(use the Help → Report Bug menu entry as a shortcut)

If it is marked “confidential” it won’t show in the list. You will get confirmation from developers I assume.
