Kicad 6 cannot de-select single symbols [SOLVED]

Hello,

In Kicad 5 on Windows I could bulk-select schematic symbols or footprints by either drag-select or by shift-left click. Then I could de-select single symbols or footprints with shift-left click again. In Kicad 6 I cannot deselect single symbols, shift-left-click will not exclude the “clicked” symbol from the current selection. Is this a bug or has the method for de-selection changed?

Saved my life, thanks! Was it written anywhere in the release notes or did you find out by trial & error? More than likely that I missed it…
