I’m facing the issue that 3D isn’t working properly under Arch Linux. I’m using the Kicad 5 package from pacman. It shows .wrl files in 3D view but not .step files. Under Ubuntu (Kicad 5 too) it works perfectly with the same .step files.
I think this is because the Arch Linux package is compiled without OpenCascades by default. You can edit the PKGBUILD.
