Issue with PCBway Fab ONLY PLUGIN

When using Kicad 8.02… Installed PCBway Fabrication Plugin version 0.1.1 (not the assembly version of PCBway).
Running on Win 10…
DRC results: , no errors or warnings so I should be good to go one would assume
When attempting to run the PCBWAY FAB plugin from within PCB editor, I get an immediate error message

"[Errno 13] Permission denied:“test_pcb_design.Kicad_pcb_gerber_zip”
Based on what I could find on the forum
https://forum.kicad.info/t/error-creating-fabrication-files/48022/6
I suspect this plugin has not been updated to be compatible with Kicad 8.0.2
Has anyone else seen this or could I be doing some wrong…
And yes I want the FAB ONLY plugin, I do not want PCBway to quote for complete assembly

Any suggestions?

Is the project folder read-only? The error sounds like there are file system permission issues.

The project folder is on a “data only drive” when I login to win 10.
IE: All my data is on drive “D”, there are no Permission restrictions on that drive.
Kicad default folder is on "drive “C”
But if you start your project for say "a sub folder on drive D,
Kicad works as it should. It’s just this particular the plugin that does not work. I even installed "Free Routing Plugin and it works, ergo PCBway plugin issue ???

How much “extra” is that plugin supposed to do for you? I would just create a set of Gerber files and send those to them.

I just tried the plugin and it worked fine for me on kicad 8.0.2 so if there is an issue with plugin it is likely not because of compatibility but something specific to your system. You should contact pcbway about it.

Or just export the gerbers yourself as paulvdh suggested.

pardon the comment “SOB”… should kick myself and M$…
Got it to work.
For strange reason, on project folder, I had to add myself as a user with FULL read/write access.
One would thing that standard M$ “Authenticated USERS” security permission would include myself (grants write access) , as I did login to said machine… But NO… Typical M$ … (Fill it in as you wish…)

Thanks to all… Lesson learned
