On a 4 layer board I have assigned the GND net to an inner plane.
How do I add a via with net name GND (running from top to bottom) preventing KiCad from connecting it to the inner GND plane?
I need this type of connection to connect a current shunt.
Use a net tie on the current shunt to give its isolated trace a different name.
And if your shunt resistor is specifically made for this task then possibly have 4 uniquely numbered pads with a 4 pin resistor symbol
Thank your very much! I was able to bypass my problem by using a net tie.
Nevertheless a via option like “don’t connect this via to any plane” or “isolate this via from all planes” would be great.
That would not solve your problem. I mean it would give you a workaround but the solution for the given problem is a net tie (which will be full tools in v6).
Damn i was sure it would be as talk about that was started right after the v5 release.
Just a loose thought (I have not read the whole “net-tie first citizen” thread.
Can the new rule based DRC be used to allow tracks from different nets to connect?
