Is there a problem with KiCad nightly PPA?

It’s been 4 days since the last nightly update. Do we have a known problem with the dev-PPA releases?

Same here (Ubuntu 20.04), I also report several issues that have been fix but I could check.

@Seth_h, ask me to avoid the reopen on this cases.

There is a build problem at the moment due to our migrating the appdata files to be translatable.

This requires ITS rules that are not present with some of the Ubuntu build machines. @jsreynaud is currently looking into possible solutions. I believe that this affects Fedora as well.

Then I should return to breakfast builds

Just a heads up, the nightly issue has been resolved and the latest Ubuntu nightlies are current again

I also got a new nightly on my linux box.

Application: KiCad

Platform: Linux 5.4.0-64-generic x86_64, 64 bit, Little endian, wxGTK, mate, x11

Build Info:
	Date: Jan 27 2021 08:10:07
	wxWidgets: 3.0.4 (wchar_t,wx containers,compatible with 2.8) GTK+ 3.24
	Boost: 1.71.0
	OCC: 7.3.0
	Curl: 7.68.0
	ngspice: 31
	Compiler: GCC 9.3.0 with C++ ABI 1013

Build settings:

Weirdly, KiCad-nightly disapeared from the “start menu”, but it can be started from the commandline.

The -nightly of both “kicad” and “pcbnew” disappeared when searching though the start menu. Eeschema is still present for both the stable and -nightly.

@imcinerney is this related to the metadata changes? Maybe it will be fixed with the next nightly with your latest changes?

Maybe it will be fixed, I don’t know for sure though. The Ubuntu Nightly package does some weird things to allow parallel installation.

@paulvdh can you report this in the packaging repo here please:

The new release didn’t appear on Legacy Nighty Build ppa:js-reynaud/ppa-kicad

Did it was not triaged yet?

Don’t use the legacy PPA, use the new PPA here:

The legacy PPA is not supported or maintained anymore.

Thanks, I just imagined that was this…
Should be interesting remove the Legacy PPA information from the website.

The legacy PPA is not supported or maintained anymore.

To be clear: The legacy PPA is still maintained but is not recommended but new adding. When I’ll stop the maintenance, I will remove it to avoid future use.
I recommend to migrate to new PPA as description suggest…

I fix desktop file creation issue few minutes ago. Next build should be ok (in few hours).
