Internal fill zone selection

I’m using Kicad 8.0.7 with a four layer board. I have two internal plane layers that are power and ground. I changed the overall size of my PCB and need to change the fill zones. For some reason on my internal fill zones I cannot select them to change there size. I can’t select them to edit them in any way. I can create a new fill zone on top of the old one and it is editable. It there a reason that I cannot select the old fill zones in my internal layers? I can select fill zones on the top and bottom layers but not internal. Any help you could provide would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Brandon

May be they are Locked and you have selecting of Locked elements switched off.

Have you tried doing a long left mouse button click over the internal fill layer ? does the internal fill show up in the list ?

more general advice if something is hard to select:

  • in the selection filter (bottom right on screen) select only the corresponding checkbox
  • determine on which layer the wanted items are located and make this the “active” layer on the right side Appearance panel
  • Switch to Dim/Hide mode on the Appearance panel (look at display options). With these modes the selection-algorithm takes only items on the current active layer into account
  • since kicad v8 the Search panel can also help to select something (useful to select footprints + zones + textitems)

Thank-you all for your help! I have some how locked the fillzone. Not sure how I did that but as soon as I have the check box in the selection filter for Locked items checked, I’m able to select it.

Again, thanks for helping me!
Have a good day!
