Interactive Router: changes automatically trace width (unwanted)

Hi,

when routing, often you want to have a big trace and when aproaching a pad, you want to reduce the trace width to the pad size.
Lets say you route a 3 mm trace and click ‘left mouse’ again to fix the trace, then reduce the trace to 1 mm width (SHIFT+W) and then hover to the pad and click “left mouse” again, the router changes the whole trace to 1 mm.
That is really annoying.
A workaround would be clicking “shift + left mouse” at the last step, but this won’t auto-finish the trace/route and you have to click twice.

Is there a setting that on trace/route finish (e.g. clicking in middle of a pad) the interactive router must not change the width of the whole trace?

This only occurs in “Highlight Collisions” mode. It does not happen in the “Shove” or “Walk Around” modes.

It is possible to fool this function in the “Highlight” mode by only a single mouse click on the finish pad and then continuing by drawing an extra piece of track from the finish pad then double left click to finish. This does then require deleting the extra piece of track later. It’s a bit messy.

You don’t mention your version (please always give your version!), but if you’re using a recent 9.0 it’s probably this bug which is fixed for 9.0.3. Not released yet but you can use a 9.0 testing build if you’d like.

Yeah sry, i totally forgot to mention the version.
I am using 9.0.2.

As i said the current workaround is clicking shift+left mouse on the finish-pad and then ESC.

This time i was too lazy to lookup GitLab list :grimacing::see_no_evil:

Thank you,
