Inserting incrementing copies on macOS in v8?

Supposedly, pressing INS with the pin tool selected will create another pin with the label and pin number incremented by one. A video online (for v6) said to use Command-Enter on macOS. I have tried both Command-Enter and Command-Return, and neither do that.

How can I make an incremented copy of the last thing I created, on macOS in KiCad 8? Pins in Symbol Editor, and things like labels in Schematic Editor?

The command is called “Repeat Last Item” and the hotkey by default is F1 on macOS, but you can remap it if desired (I just have it as Ins because I use an external standard keyboard)
