In Eechema, problem of visibility of component fields completed with BOM

Hello,
I usually add a command code field in my symbols, this field must be visible.
I found that once created on a symbol, this field automatically appears in the BOM, which is very convenient to quickly complete command code for all symbols.
My problem is that, once completed, this field is not visible on the schematic, even if I check "visible" individualy.
Am I doing it wrong ? Or is there a problem with the software ?
Thank you in advance.

What version of KiCad are you using, and how do you set “visible”?

If I edit the properties of a symbol in KiCad V5.1 I have a “show” column in a spreadsheet like overview, and it “simply works”.

I have some memory that the screen is not always updated. The simplest way to trigger a redraw is to zoom in / out or pan.

Hello,
I use KiCad 5.0.2
In fact my question is rather about the « Symbols field », there is 4 chronological screenshot to illustrate my question.
Even if visible is clicked in symbols field, I must clicked visible in the symbol’s window to see the command code on the schematic.
Thanks

The “visible” checkbox in the “Champs des symboles” dialog applies to the visibility of this field in the spreadsheet-like table of the dialog. It’s totally unrelated to the visibility of the field on the schematics.

Thanks Efcis

As Efcis wrote, “Champs des symboles” only relates to the spreadsheet view, which makes screenshot 2 & 3 not very usefull.

The checkbox at “Propites de Symbole” is the right one. Visible for J5 is true in the first screenshot, and the text “RS-425:8720” is shown for that symbol.
In the last screenshot the visibility for that field is off, and it is therefore not shown on the monitor.

If you check the checkbox for “visible” for the resistor in the 4th screenshot, the text should become visible. But as I said before, you might have to redraw the screen manually (zoom in/out).

There also used to be a shortcut to make all invisible fields visible, but I can’t find it.
