Importing Eagle xxx.sch file

Hi, I was trying to import an Eagle schema file. Using KiCad 8.0.3
The error message:
xx.sch is a binary Eagle fromat file. I understand that only Eagle XML files can be imported.

Q; Is there a “workaround” to view the schema without installing Eagle? I have cancelled the Autocad registration process.

No. That error message hints to a old eagle file (XML was introduced with eagle v6). You have to install eagle and convert this to v6/v7 XML file format.

You don’t need a autocad subscription, this should also be possible with the free pre-Autocad eagle versions.
