Hi,
I have PCB information for an Analog Devices evaluation board.
There’s a .asc file and a pcb file. The first line of the .asc file is
!PADS-POWERPCB-V3.0-BASIC! DESIGN DATABASE ASCII FILE 2.0
There’s an old post from 2016 but the directions are out-of-date. Import of .asc files don’t seem to be a supported format in Import Non KiCad Board file .
I tried importing the .pcb file into pcbnew but despite a 3,315kb kicad_pcb file, nothing is displayed.
DC2234A LT8711 Micropower Synchronous Sepic Converter Documentation & Resources
I’m not looking to reproduce the PCB just learn from the layout.
Any suggestions please?
Thanks.

I’m going to answer my own question here. I’ve been able to export the gerbers from the gerber viewer into pdbnew.
This will be sufficient for my educational needs.

If you want to go further, see the FAQ article below.
The goal of this reverse-engineering tutorial is to re-create a complete KiCad project from partial information assuming the only information available is a schematic in some readable, (but not EDA form, such as a .pdf or a .png picture), and a set of gerber files.
The Gerber files will create a PCB with much PCB information missing, however, using this method is easier than re-designing a PCB from scratch, and can also be extended to any other program that creates Gerber files.
