Is it possible to import a schematic and footprint at the same time? For example, I almost always use an RS232 driver which uses 5 caps. Can I create a schematic/board with just this circuit and import it into my project so I do not need to do the layout every time?

Haven’t tried it, but perhaps a custom template may work.
There are some templates which comes with KiCAD and have connectors, etc already included already on the PCB (I think for Raspberry Pi hat or something similar).
