Hi,
If I add an image (PNG) to schematic, it is not part of a schematic print (using microsoft print to PDF). See attached screenshot. Is there a workaround, using different image filetypes or something, to have the image included in PDF print?
Note: It is not part of print preview either.
I believe this has been fixed in v6.0.2
Unfortunately not working in 6.0.2 either
Try plot instead of print and choose pdf. Plot is better in every way if a pdf is what you’re after. To mention one thing, the resulting pdf is searchable, which it’s not if you print to pdf.
Strange 6.0.2 fixed it for me on a win11 machine.
Does anybody knows why “print” does even exist when there is “plot” functionality with much better support (searchable pdf insted of image-based pdf)?
These almost duplicate functions provides only drawback, in my opinion: newcommers will not get the idea to look at “plot” when there already is standart “print” menu entry, also, quazi-abandoned print support generates addditional bug reports, like this one…
Does anybody of you use “print” menu entry…, why?
For those who actually want to print something in paper, I suppose. Through Plot you don’t get the option to print through Windows. It should still include images, though.
I can confirm that image is included in a PDF plot, using Plot instead of Print, so I will continue using this option. Kicad 6.0.2.
