Ibus stops GTK3 flicker?!?

Dear all,

I seem unable to find out how to use IRC and didn’t find another method to contact the devs => posting the new thing I found out here:

The GTK3 kicad flicker (https://www.kicad.org/help/known-system-related-issues/): disappears completely if you install the ibus packages and then do an

export GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus

If you set GTK_IM_MODULE to xim again kicad starts to flicker again. Can anyone confirm and can anyone update https://www.kicad.org/help/known-system-related-issues accordingly?

Uhm, what year is it?
I don’t remember any KiCad IRC, is it advertised somewhere?
Also can you describe your gtk3 issue? Known issues page you link is out of date and doesn’t mention any flicker issue.
I believe all major gtk3 related issues were resolved in v5.1.

Kicad IRC is mentioned on the Kicad-pcb website https://kicad.org/community/irc/
I have never tried using it.
