I want to move a project to another computer

How to move Kicad’s project from old computer to new computer?
Both computer have installed Kicad 9.0.4…

I have copied next files from old computer to new computer:
project folder included .kiad_pro and other files: pcb prl sch.

I have copied next files too:
footprints folder and symbols folder( including original global symbols and footprints that I made)

I have opened project file and PCB editor. But I couldn’t see the foot print that I designed at old computer. I saw the line (like an auxiliary line) only. I was using my foot print at this project.

An original footprint that I made looks missing at new computer.
What was missing?

If you copied personal libraries over, did you remember to register them in the library tables? Use Tools > Manage Symbol/Footprint Libraries from the project manager.

Yes. I forgot to write.

I have added my global symbols and footprints library at that preference.

I can see lines that I placed, but I can’t see other foot print that I saved.

The library is registered there:

You can trace this problem yourself. Look at the footprint path associated with the symbol and use that to search for the footprint in your libraries. It could be that you were working with a copy of footprint in your PCB file that no longer existed in the library.

I didn’t use a copy of the library.
I can say that I used the foot print only without schematics at this time.
Maybe this phenomenon was from this reason. When I want to take a project to the new computer, the footprint must be connected on the schematics. When I clicked the parts in the schematics, It appeared contour only that wasn’t seen on the PCB editor.

I found the way.
Do update from the library on the PCB editor.
You can see the foot print.
But I can see the contour of foot print only. Why?

I found that the contour is the silk screen. How do I see the F.Cu?
the F.Cu’s check box(eye mark) is activated.

I found that make the check box active at “the foot print of surface” in the object tab.

These options should be activated by the system by default.

Normally al this stuf is (and stay) visible by default, but is / was a bug that if a KiCad V9 project is opened in V8, it messes up the visibility settings. Your problem seems the same, but I’m not sure.

Maybe they were disabled on the original computer and copied across in the .kicad_prl file which contains visibility preferences. Anyway now you know what to look out for.

I have opened this project at Kicad V.7 once. But the date wasn’t changed, I thought the file remains V.9.
