I have an error message about footprint filters

I have an error message about footprint filters.

Warning: Assigned footprint (dip-14_w7.62mm_socket_longpads) doesn’t match footprint filters (ETSSOP1EP?4.4x6.5mm?P0.65mm7EP3x4.2mm")

I have read the manual re footprint filters, but do not understand.

All I want is to delete footprint filters for this component?? Or maybe make a copy of the footprint, but that would copy filters as well??

Your component uses a footprint that is not matching one of the filters set in the schematics symbol. If you are sure your footprint is correct, you can ignore this warning. If you assign a fixed footprint to a symbol in the library, then you don’t need filters. You can safely remove the filters, they are only used in the process for selecting footprints in the schematics.

So how do I cancel filters for this footprint ?

Do you want just a simple answer to this direct question, or do you want to understand the options you have?

In a simple case, where you have one instance of the symbol in a schematic and you want to change that one symbol instance, you can remove the filters from that instance. Select the symbol, open the context menu → Edit with Symbol Editor. Open the Symbol Properties → Footprint Filters tab. Select a filter row and delete it.

But whether you want to do exactly that or something else, depends on your use case, for example if you want to reuse the symbol/footprint combination, whether you are using a standard KiCad symbol or a symbol in a personal or company library, etc.
