Howto update footprint after adding 3D model

Hi All,

I have just attached a 3D model to a footprint with the footprint editor and it shows up in it’s 3D preview ok.
However, I can’t see how to update that footprint into the current PCB (The button that say “Update footprint into current PCB” stays grayed out, so can’t select it.)

… and so when doing a 3D view of my PCB, the new model does not show up.

Is this a bug? surely after adding a 3D model to a footprint, that button should be active to allow me to update the current PCB.

I don’t want to have to delete and re-add the footprint in the current PCB if possible.

Cheers

When I change my library, I usual perform a read netlist and check to update changed footprints. That will update all changed footprints in the project.
Maybe there are other ways.

Related to 3D models, make sure also that your 3D Viewer has the option to show 3D models enabled in the preferences. But if you are see other 3D models already then the options is already checked.

I found out how to do it. Select component on PCB right-click and go update component then select the same footprint to update and update it … seems a bit of a weird way to do it …
