How to Use the 'Tune Differential Pair Skew' Tool to Match Trace Lengths?

Hello,

I’m working on a PCB design in KiCad, and I need to match the lengths of two traces that form a differential pair. I’ve heard that the “Tune Differential Pair Skew” tool can be used to adjust the length of the shorter trace to match the longer one.

Can someone explain the correct steps to use this tool? Specifically, how do I select the traces, and how does KiCad automatically adjust the lengths?

Thank you!

Tuning tools place meanders on straight track segments. There’s no space to place meanders on your screenshot.

It’s better to just place components symmetrically in your case.

Thanks for your reply .
When I try to apply the “Tune Differential Pair Skew” tool, it appears like this instead of creating meanders. Is there an option to solve this?

Extend it and the meander should appear.

Use the hotkeys 1, 2, 3, 4 to tune your meander.

i extended it, but the meander is still not forming.

Extend it along the track.

maybe this will help…

I extended along the track, but the meanders are not forming.

Works when you do it correctly…
