How to use a custom made footprint in kiCAD 4.0.1

I created a footprint for a SSR and tried to allocate using CVPCb,But I’m not getting the footprint while searching on Libraries,How to solve it…I’m Using Ubuntu and KiCAD 4.0.1 version

open footprint editor… menu ‘Preferences’.
Use either the wizard or the manager to add your local custom library.

Hi…I added the footprint and the name is showing also,but the foot prints inside the library are not listing

Contemporary footprints are .kicad_mod files in a .pretty folder. One footprint per .kicad_mod file.
If you got legacy footprints in a legacy library file you need to tell KiCAD that when you set up the link to that library… there was a dropdown menu for each library entry I think
