How to upgrade correctly from v6 to v7 on Windows 11?

Do I need to delete the old version? And then what about the library, which has already been expanded for my tasks? Do the settings disappear too?

What are the version numbers you are referring to? And the OS?

I mean after version 6, now 7.02. I use Windows 11.

As I remember I had only one issue when moving from V6 to V7 under Windows 10.
When, after installing V7, and running it for the first time I selected to use old configuration (from V6) KiCad had no problem with it.
But then when first time running a schematic or PCB and KiCad asked for library lists I wanted to use my lists and in the window opened to select the list I just couldn’t select it as for Windows they are system/hidden files.
So (using file manager) I copied those lists (from V6) into some easily accessible folder and then select it when KiCad asked for them.

KiCad V7 uses separate configuration folder then V6 so they probably can work together. I don’t know if V6 and V7 libraries are also installed separately.
I just deleted V6 and then installed V7.
