Hello all. I am trying to open a *.kicad_pcb file. Is there a way to open it in the PCBNew layout editor?
I am aware of the option of archiving/un-archiving the project. However this option doesn’t always open every symbol and footprint.
What would be a good solution?

start pcbnew not from the kicad window, but stand-alone… either via the program folder (pcbnew.exe or whatever your OS calls executables) or search the start folder for Kicad - pcbnew is listed there as well (at least under windows).
…PCBnew will then get a ‘open pcb layout’ button.
