How to highlight traces on mouseover?

How can I make KiCad do this when moving mouse?

One quick answer would be to press the highlight hotkey constantly. It defaults to backtick (left of the 1 key on US keyboards), but you can change it to anything you like. If you hold it down without moving the mouse, you get a highlight flashing on and off. Maybe if you move the mouse fast enough, that works?

one of those?

I have the “pipe” (|) as default key to the left of “1” on Qwerty.
I assigned “toggle net highlight” to something easy, but I see no change when pressing it.

Indeed, the Highlight Net action ( confused why there are two with the same name… ) has the little backtick ` character as the highlight key and then Shift+` ( or tilda ~ ) is the clear highloight.

It does what I would like, but the “toggle net highlight” must be someting else or inop, as it looks like what I requested, but does not seem to do anything.

So am I.

@Andre_K
What version of Kicad are you using?
Where are all the other hotkeys for the PCB?
Why no hotkeys in Project Manager?
Why is Project Manager below PCB in the hotkey list?

8.0.5 (Linux)
I guess you see less keys because I filtered/searched for “highlight”
this is how it looks without filter.

Thanks @Andre_K .
I hadn’t realised you had used the search function.

@scandey has your answer. There is no “lock” function for highlighting nets. You can use the “back tick” key to highlight individual nets as you move the mouse.
