How to change Dotted line spacing in symbol editor

When making a symbol, I cant seem to find where I can change the “dotted line” dot spacing configuration.

I know in schematic editor I can change these parameters in Scemtic setup/formatting, but is there such a setting for the symbol editor?

is there such a setting for the symbol editor?

No, there is only one setting for the dotted line typ (the one you already have shown)

No, but I made this feature request about a month ago: https://gitlab.com/kicad/code/kicad/-/issues/15959

If you approve, please give it a thumbs_up. Maybe one of the nice, kind, marvelous developers will take pity on us.:slightly_smiling_face:

Dotted lines in the Symbol editor are a PITA. You need to set a suitable grid, draw a few short lines freehand then duplicate a few times adding the duplicates together :grimacing:

EDIT: ah, never mind…

EDIT2: it can’t be a global setting because each symbol can be reused anywhere and must keep its own line style. Therefore it should be defined for each line or at least for each symbol separately.

I wasn’t after a global setting.
I want a feature to change line ( including arcs & circles) type only for that symbol being created at that time in the symbol editor.

The feature would be accessed by: Opening Symbol Editor, open personal library symbol, open polygon drawing properties, select dashed/dotted style, open a new window to show dash/dot length and gap or select length /gap spacing before style. Which ever is the more suitable arrangement.

Maybe I’d better clarify this in the request? Done.

I was actually reacting to the original question, “I know in schematic editor I can change these parameters in Schematic setup/formatting, but is there such a setting for the symbol editor?”.
