How to add a second schematic to a project?
I don’t need hierarchical schematics. Just two separate schematics.
I am using KiCad 4.0.2
Hm… you don’t need to worry about the ‘hierarchical’ part really.
Think of it as a folder that contains other folders.
Those other folders don’t need to have to do anything with each other, they just need to sit side by side in that parent folder.
Solution 1: create a hierarchical sheet in one of the schematic and link the other schematic to that hierarchical sheet.
Solution 2: create a ‘root’ schematic and put both schematics into it as hierarchical sheets
Currently there is no way (afaik) to have just two schematics as base for the netlist, you have to use hierarchical sheets.
I still wish we could simply add another sheet.
Yeah, I know that some of what I produce really belongs on 11X17 sheets rather than 8.5X11 or 8.5X14, but the guys I work for won’t spring for a printer that can handle 11X17. I have some drawings where one (hierarchical) sheet is nothing but “Notes”, and another sheet holds the actual schematic.

Thanks Sparky. That’s what I needed to know.
I’m sure you’re not alone thinking like that and hope that the dev(s) working on EEschema see things similarly
Long ago when I used Racal Visula, we usually used a flat structure. Hierarchical was always a bit buggy.
