Currently, KiCad is set up with only one default copper layer. I would like to know how to add multiple copper layers in KiCad and rename the copper layers using the interface.
If I need to create ground, power, and signal connections, is it recommended to simulate all of these on copper layers?
Attached is the screenshot of my current layer configuration.
But on the other point, I do not know whether 1 layer boards are made anywhere these days. During Y2K I was working in Thailand and designed a power supply on a 1 layer board. I think the board material tends to be phenolic rather than epoxy fiberglass.
At JLCPCB the lowest price 4 layer boards are smaller than the lowest price 2 layer. I have recently designed both types.
