This may be an issue with SVG import support in CorelDraw. Due to svg format version difference support. It may not be handling newer version of SVG format correctly.
You can verify by opening your exported SVG files in different program like InkScape or so.
At this stage I am not sure what SVG version KiCad6 or 7 and now KiCad8 exports.
By verifying the import of KiCad8 generated SVG file in other program and it’s version, you can ask for correct updated SVG import filter from Corel people. So you can continue with your workflow.
Other applications / persons had found different workaround on CorelDraw SVG import issues.
