canvas mode and opengl mode needed - this is from a test I just did…
canvas mode
mouse, no tool active
draw selection box around the tracks you want to copy (left mouse button)
in the dialog that pops up select only tracks
move mouse with selection box somewhere where there is nothing else
right click and chose copy block
opengl mode
reduce copied track-salad to the tracks you want, change layer for the tracks you want [E]
move tracks into position
I’m pretty sure the net assignment will be gone after this, so no chance you get those connected to any circuitry with the DRC active…
personally I’d open the kicad_pcb file and do it manually in a text editor, as this way I would be able to keep the nets with a 90% chance
PS: whats so complicated in re-drawing the tracks on another layer again? Should be easy with the tracks from the first layer being there and helping with positioning, no?
Hello, I don’t know how working in vanvas mode or openGL mode.
I work with BZR 4022 07-07-2013.
When i draw a second duplicate track, the first track disapears.
And i need to duplicate tracks.
Thanks for your help.
Any chance you can upgrade to the latest KiCAD?
The ones you got is pretty old and things have changed (some a lot) - so troubleshooting would be very painful.
