How do I split a wire?

I’m trying to make a voltage divider. I need to split the wire between two resistors. The tutorial I’m following online doesn’t tell me how to split wires. The Add Junction tool, which looks like it should work, only produces the error “Junction location contains no joinable wires and/or pins.” no matter what I click on.

How do I split the wire to make a voltage divider? Thanks

Is this for simulation?
You probably need to add a test point.

This is for a schematic. There is no “test point” option in the toolbar. Can you be specific, or include images of what you’re referring to?

Your use case is very strange.
If you want to sample the voltage at the junction between two resistors, just click on the wire with the wire tool.
But, the other end needs to go someplace to be useful…

Okay. The trick was to not use the Add Junction tool, and instead add another component and drag the wire to it. Thanks.

The Junction tool is for wires that already cross but aren’t joined.

You just want to draw a wire into an existing wire. The Junction is created automatically.
