Is this a fork? I ran across it because I’m having some issues after compiling 9.0.4 on Debian 13 and wanted to see where the backports were now.
Nope, it’s an independent project. It makes use of KiCad’s router though (maintained as a fork)
No it’s not. It uses some code from KiCad (push’n’shove router) but otherwise isn’t a fork.
As far as I know, it’s mostly a one man effort, and the philosophy behind it was that the developer identified sore points of KiCad back then and tried to do those things better; and of course it had other principles and goals, too. But the evolution of KiCad mostly left it behind if I can judge from the feature lists correctly, and it can’t compete on many areas. I haven’t tried it, though, so I may be wrong.
OK. When it said the “main differentiator” was the library structure I thought maybe they just redid that part. Hadn’t heard of it before though.
