Hello, is there a way to set somewhere in configuration
that hiearchy navigator doesn’t hide after each schematic selection?

Select (from Top Menu): Preferences
select: Schematic Editor
select: Editing Options
Right column, last item is “Keep hierarchy navigator open”

Or, in 6.99, drag it over to the left of the schematic window and it will dock.
