I can’t place hierarchical pins on the top or bottom of a box. Have I missed something? I would like to make a child sheet look like a symbol with power pins on the top and bottom. Not essential, just curious.
As it stands they only go sideways.
… unless you turn the whole box which turns the bottom and top texts vertically. Looks kind of ugly though.
In nightly builds I can rotate a pin with R, so that functionality will be part of version 6.0.
I am running off of master. Yep R does turn pins, AND also the two texts outside that blue box. Subsequent R’s even move that blue box and allows, pins meant to be inside only, outside as well. Definitely not ready for primte time yet.
@jos, are you up to date on the nightlies? If you are, then can you report that pin rotation issue on the bug tracker. There was a similar bug for the moving during rotation, but that was fixed a few weeks ago, and I haven’t seen one for the text rotation problem. It would be very useful to include a screen capture of the behavior if you can.
Move… rotate… move… rotate back
5.99.0-14-g548dbb7c2, Linux
(going to sleep now, no time to report properly)
Version (5.99.0-23-gcde9a788b-dirty)
Commands used R, M, Ctrl+Z, mouse (video recording below)
- Always the very first pin name only, when moved aligns the sheet/file name texts with its orientation. Regardless of left or right position as starting point.
- Any subsequent move of different pin names seems fine.
- The selected box walks away with every R command.
- A sequence R, M close to edge, and R on a pin name will eventually place that pin outside the box. The closer placed to the edge the further away it moves. However, a M will snap it back inside the box.
Commands X, Y (without video)
- Y command on an unselected (mouse hovers over it) box walks it to the right.
- Y on a selected (highlighted) box walks it at its width to the left.
A subsequent select (highlight) will then walk to the right. - X seems fine.
Cheers
