Hierarchal Sheet Block - Pin Label Multi-Select - Deselect of Accidental Select of Hierarchal Block Leads To Loss Of All Pin Label Selections

When (modifierKey)+click selecting a large number of pin labels in a hierarchal sheet block, it is VERY easy to accidentally select the block (since it is the background space). Typically (modifierKey)+click deselecting the block also deselects all of the labels as well.

Is there any means to deselect the hierarchal sheet block without deselecting all of the labels?
