Hide silkscreen for selected area

Hi, I have a layout which is quite dense in some areas:

Is there a method to selectively hide the silkscreen text? Like “hide all selected silkscreen”?

In 6.0 you can do this using the “only include selected items” filter in the Edit Text & Graphics dialog. In 5.1 I don’t think there is an easy way to do this, unfortunately.

I expected that… thanks anyway. Let’s hope 6.0 arrives soon!

Several developers have stated they feel it is more stable than 5.X at this point. That is where their attention is and bugs get squashed pretty quickly. So waiting a couple of weeks might not be in your best interest if this is a feature you really want to take advantage of.

This may be especially true for people that are regular to this list. Or will be for the next couple weeks till the official release.

OK… so I installed the latest nightly and:

Just a few minutes work - incredible!
On top - the right mouse button pan alone is worth its weight in gold (so to speak). I have to admit I constantly hated the zoom/pan mechanism of V5.
Why I did not try V6 earlier: This layout makes heavy use of the replicate layout plugin, https://github.com/MitjaNemec/Kicad_action_plugins which seems not to work in V6 (maybe should try the 5.99_test branch).

The 5.99 branch should work. If something in the KiCad python API has changed after the plugin was ported to 5.99 (actually I did part of the porting), the plugin can be fixed quickly.
