Hide ref/value for some units

It’s not clear to me how to manage the visibility of the labels (reference and value) for different units in the same multi-unit parts.

The most common example is a dual op-amp.
I would like to make it with these features:

  • unit A: first op-amp, ref and value visible (i.e. U1A and MCP6002)
  • unit B: second op-amp, only ref visible (i.e. U2B)
  • unit C: power pins, no labels visible (because I usually put it inside one of the two units)

I’m not able to change the visibility of the label per unit. It seems they are global across all units.
Is there a way to achieve the above scenario?

To be clear: I’m aware I can change the visibility from EEschema. I’m asking if it could be done from the symbol editor.

Sadly there is no unit level control for Text fields (at least not in version 5.1). Not just for visibility but also the position can not be controlled per unit.

This is one of the reasons why the field auto placing stuff is necessary especially if your units have different sizes.
