Hide GND/+5V Airwires because copperfill?

Hi,

I plan to use 2 copperfills for GND and +5V. How can I remove all airwires for GND and +5V. I do not need to route those wires because they will be covered by the copperfill later!?

Also I played around with the copper fill and I still find areas which are not copper, most likely because it is unable to connect it to GND. How can I add “dummy” copper fills there?

This is a recurring question.

Some temporarily bump up the layer count and temporarily add GND and Vcc planes to (fictive) inner layers. (Edit: This only works for THT.)

Some people manually edit the netlist file to remove the GND and Vcc nets, and later import a complete netlist.

There are also (3rd party) scripts that can be used in Pcbnew to manipulate the netlist, but I can’t remember the name of that project.

These are both workarounds, I am not aware of a current “real” solution.

The current “real” solution will come with v6 where you can set colors and visibilities for ratsnest nets.

This, I think, not helps as you wont to not see these airwires before you place via.
I add GND at top (even I plan to have it at bottom) and frequently use B key to hide as many GND airwires as possible (not all are hidden). My way will not work with more then one net so for GND and VCC I would edit netlist.

No need for dummy fills. Just turn off their visibility if that is what bothers you.
