Help adding s-expr netlist plugin

I’d like to be able to add a netlist plugin that generates s-expressions into a filter program (stdin or via temp file is fine).

I tried going into Generate Netlist / Add Plugin, and adding a simple command like “/usr/local/bin/my_plugin”. Unfortunately, it generates XML into a temporary file; I was really hoping for s-expressions.

This is with Ubuntu 20.04-based KiCad, version as follows:
