Has 6.0.7 vanished?

Hi,

Just tried to download the Windows version and all the links are saying file not found?

The release was just announced, I’d wait a bit. KiCad releases are usually not very well synchronized, the source is released and the packages take a little time to trickle down. Someone might have updated the website a little prematurely.

Use the GitHub or CERN links. They are guaranteed to be available on release day.

All other links are mirrors that may take 24 hours

Unfortunately the GitHub and CERN links doesn’t work for the Windows version. :frowning:

The correct Github link is:

https://github.com/KiCad/kicad-source-mirror/releases/download/6.0.7/kicad-6.0.7-x86_64.exe

On the download page the name of the exe has gotten a “_1” after the version number for some reason."

This is what the CERN link does (Win11):

Same thing with the CERN link. This link works:

https://kicad-downloads.s3.cern.ch/windows/stable/kicad-6.0.7-x86_64.exe

The one on the download page says:

https://kicad-downloads.s3.cern.ch/windows/stable/kicad-6.0.7_1-x86_64.exe

That would imply that there was a rebuild and the “_1” is the correct but not distributed version

Interesting.

At least it seems to work fine. I’ll keep my eyes open for announcements though.

Seems broken here

The post from @albin is that the version on the server without the “_1” seems to work
I am not sure why the download page his pointing to a non-existent “_1”

Yes I have done the download from the other link.

Whatever it was, It’s fixed.
[Edit] Obviously not by me

And now there is no “_1”
I will distribute this 6.0.7 at work

Sorry about that folks! 6.0.6 had a _1 appended because it had a packaging revision and in the course updating the website, we neglected to remove the _1

Should be all good now

Download and install went fine this afternoon (MDT). Good to go from github.

6.0.7 downloads work fine now.
Users of this version should be aware that STEP export is broken. If you need this, download a “Testing Lite” version and update

How is Step export broken? I have done several step files, and they seem to work. I have Win10/64 and 6.0.7.

I am searching for it, there was also an issue with DRC error count that got through
