I ended up just using a drop of epoxy to hold the JST SH connector in place. It’s rock solid and I can plug and unplug cables without any trouble. Much easier than trying to solder those tiny mounting pins!

Always more than one way to skin a cat. Especially for personal, hobby, or very low volume stuff.
