This is my first post in this forum. I’m using KiCad for over 10 years under different operating systems without (greater) trouble. Such a nice software! For a few days now, the GUI under Gnome seems broken. In 4 out of 5 tries I can’t fill in input fields in forms and other GUI-elements such as radio buttons or scroll-bars won’t work (visibly). The operations itself seem to work though. I even tried to run it in a virtual machine using ubuntu 22.04. It shows the same behavior. No other program I use shows such malfunction. Does anyone else experience such strange behavior?
My stats:
Manjaro with Kernel 6.1.53-1-MANJARO and Gnome 44.4/Mutter
AMD ATI Radeon RX6800 XT with OSS drivers
KiCad 7.0.7 from the manjaro repositories
There have been a bunch of bugs relating to the visibility of texts during editing, and they do get fixed, but some are still remaining. At the moment I am also still having a small bug. When I am editing a text field with a “Browse” button at the end, the height of the box during editing is too low to show the part of the letters that stick out at the bottom.
In the screenshot below, this turns the “y” of symbol into a “v”, the “g” of logo into an “a” and the two “p”'s of copper are also missing:
thanks for your reply. I experience an other, more serious bug. In 4 out of 5 tries, I can’t even type into the input fields. The operation itself seems to work, meaning that for example a label value changes according to my input. Same goes for other GUI elements such as radio buttons, scroll bars etc… The operation works, but the GUI elements don’t reflect the value change visibly.
