I’m doing a fresh install of KiCad on my new MacBook 16". Woohoo. 
When launching a schematic for the first time I get this popup which makes sense, however, the “recommended” choice is not selectable. Any idea why. Thanks
So the issue here is that when I drag the kicad directory to the Application Support directory it just bounces back. I am running Catalina. Im guessing it needs permissions to do this but the OS is not asking for any.
Anybody have any ideas on how I can install this directory manually using sudo or some other way to get this installed?
Because this is so much OS related you should edit the subject line to reflect that. You’ll have better chances to get help if you add “MacOS” there.
