Glob Move and Place in KiCad 4

KiCad 4 is full of awesome improvements, but I can’t seem to find any way to spread out the components - the Glob Move and Place option is no longer in the context menu when in footprint mode. Anyone figure that out yet?

Which mode are you in? I haven’t figured out how to do glob(al) move and place (did you know that’s what it stands for??) in OpenGL mode, but if I switch back to the standard mode, it should be there when the “Footprint” mode is activated.

Yep, make sure you are using the legacy renderer and not the OpenGL or cairo renderers!

Aha! The first thing I do when I get to Pcbnew is switch the OpenGL mode because it’s so darn snazzy. Thanks!

It’s a good thing they abbreviated that, two more letters would have made it way too long!

I always liked (and will continue) thinking of it as “Oh, we’ll I’m moving a ‘glob’ of parts”

Today I Learned that there are things in KiCad that I didn’t even know about because I only ever worked in the OpenGL canvas
