Gerber Plot Issues with filled zones

I created a filled zone in my project to act as a ground plane. I believe it worked properly and I did what I was supposed to and assigned the correct layer, but it seems like when I plot the Gerber and drill files, the Gerber preview shows the plane almost as a silkscreen rectangle. Below are some images confirming what is happening. I’m not exactly sure what could be causing this however it is my first time using these filled zones.

I feel like I’m missing some simple menu setting or something, but I can’t figure it out. Any help would be appreciated.

In PCB Editor / File / Fabrication Outputs / Gerbers there are two columns with Gerber layers. You probably enabled some in the Plot on All Layers column, which does exactly what it implies. The Zones thing you are chasing is very likely a red herring.
