Please try out the latest Testing build, better to find a critical bug now than after release.
It should be very stable

There are nightly builds for the 5.1 branch for windows and macos on
Windows:

Macos:

I am running the Windows 615 64 bit build right now.
I hope some Mac users can try this, always the most under tested OS and this time the Macos bugs were the main cause of the long wait for the freeze

I believe @fred4u has been using pre-5.1.6 for a while, i jope he has been reporting any issues found.

Yeah, I keep running production with the Pre-5.1.6 for some time now, and so far no major issues found. Will also install this build on MacOS when it will be pushed to the server.

Look again!

OK, will heat up the Mac at the end of day

I just wrapped up a board design using the Windows 614 64 bit build and I had no problems. Worked great!

Well… there IS at least one PCBNew crash scenario left.
I’ve seen that one before once, but today I’ve managed to get the error repeatedly few times in a row.
When edit Footprint properties, remove additional text item (other than Reference and Value) by clicking the Bin button and click OK, PCBNew silently disappeared without any error message.
Keep trying to provide full repro scenario but right now I’m missing this magic ingredient…

A bug fix has been pushed, but the Testing build is late today

edit Its there now but a 7 hour download, the Internet is slooow today

Just updated and start testing. The PCBNew crash is fixed in my test scenario.
Now the latest build is labeled “5.1.6-rc1”

I think rc1 might have happened the previous day, anyway the 19th April build is the first with the patch

5.1.6 has been tagged and pre 5.1.7 started.
Expect the 5.1.6 release soon
