There was a commit in Freerouting 5 months ago for KiCad V9 plugins.
A few weeks ago a few more significant Freerouting changes that might break something, but not under the control of the KiCad project
Freerouting is not an included part of KiCad. Any integration is via the import / export of a Spectra DSN file. Other autorouters use the same process. Any issues of comparability should be taken up with either the plugin developer of whichever branch of Freerouting you are following and therefore their maintainer - in no circumstances is it directly related to KiCad unless the dsn import or export is defective.
It shouldn’t break between dot versions of Kicad though.
